The Cellar Door is unlike any other Antique/Consignment store in the area. The difference is not in what is sold here, even though there are many unexpected treasures. The difference is change. Most of the store utilizes a rotation system using color coded tags that results in a complete change in merchandise over a period of months.
Here is an example of how it works. A wonderful collectable marble statue arrives, is tagged and made available for sale. If it is still in the store after a period of three to four months, it becomes discounted by 20%. It gets better, if still in the store after another period, the discount is increased to 50%. Then in a final effort to find a new home for this piece, after still another span of time the discount becomes a whopping 80%. This eliminates the "Say, didn't I see this here last year." exclamation.
