THE WANDERER
I wandered million miles,
In search for an abode.
A place to catch my breath,
A place to rest my soul.
I wandered the grounds aplenty,
I chanced upon a grave.
I set my foot into the pit,
I rested, yet no peace I gained.
I parked my bags next to the trees,
I lay my weight on the cold, damp ground.
I thought I could sleep with such pleasant breeze,
Yet again, I know not why, restless I remained.
I pleaded the Gods to lend me sleep,
Sedate my mind with thy mercy.
The God rebuked my plea and left my side,
A shuddering silence was all I could find.
A heavy heart seldom rests,
A burdened mind seldom sleeps.
I plucked my heart out this time,
Painful as it may seem.
Yet once and for all my mind was quiet,
For now my heart hath ceased to bleed.
